Agent-based Constraint Programming by Federico Bergenti

Tutor bio:

Dr. Ing. Federico Bergenti is a senior researcher at CNIT (Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni). He is Contract Professor at Università degli Studi di Parma where he teaches several courses on Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
His current research regards various aspects of Agent-Oriented Software Engineering (AOSE). One of the main goals of his research is to test and validate the usability of software agents as a foundational paradigm of computation for the realization of complex and maintainable software systems.
Collateral research regards Distributed Constraint Satisfaction Problems (DCSPs) and synchronous Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) systems. His research on DCSPs is about innovative algorithms and techniques for the fruitful application of this paradigm to Configuration Systems. His activities on synchronous CSCW systems progress towards the realization of the enabling technology for the development of innovative collaboration platforms capable of integrating off-the-shelf applications and services. Such platforms are intended for wired and wireless users with a particular emphasis on broadband mobile users. He has been active contributor under different affiliations to three IST RTD projects:
CASCOM (IST-2003-511632), Collaborator (IST-2000-20045) and LEAP (IST-1999-10211). He also participated to various National and International projects. In 2002, Federico was honored with the “Innovation Award” of the International Workshop on Cooperative Information Agents (CIA). He received a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Università degli Studi di Parma in 2001 with a dissertation on the use of software agents as reusable software components. He received a Laurea degree in Electronics Engineering from Università degli Studi di Parma in 1998.
