During the last decades, technology undergone a spectacular evolution that gave it a central position in Human life and obviously in Measurement Science. In the beginning of this new century Human comes back to its central position in harmony with technology. This relation between human and technology also influences the Measurement Science. This 12th IMEKO TC1-TC7 joint symposium on "Man science & measurement" was initiated in this context. It explored emerging challenges and novel concepts in measurement science from an anthropocentric viewpoint. It focused on the role of Measurement Science in human activity, considering for example:

  • measuring systems as a way for helping human perception of the world
  • measurement as a way for helping perception of human activity
  • Measurement Science as a focus of interest

145 authors from 22 countries contributed to this conference with 2 keynote lectures and 60 original papers selected by the International Program Committee across 77 submissions.
