Coming to Annecy

 

By Geneva (60 km)

The closest airport is Cointrin, the official airport of Geneva, Switzerland. It's situated at about 60 kilometers (37 miles) from Annecy, and there are about one train every two hours with destination Annecy. The voyage by train takes between one hour and two hours and a half.

The price of a taxi is about 70 Euros, if you call for a French one. The cost is almost the double if you take a Swiss one at the airport. The number for the taxi company in Annecy is +33 (0)4 50 45 05 67.

Regular buses for Annecy leave from the Dorcière Place bus station downtown Geneva.
Time of departure 8:30 am, 10:30 am, 1:30 pm, 5:30 pm, 6:45pm all days, plus 8:15 pm Sunday and holiday
To get to Dorcière Place, you can take :
1/ One of the regular shuttles, Bus No 10 (every 10 mins, from 5:45 am to 11:30 pm), from the Airport that goes to the Dorcière station. The Dorcière station is located at 200 metres from the bus stop.
2/ One of the regular trains from the Airport station to the Cornavin station in Geneva. The Dorcière station is located at 800 metres from the train stop.

From Annecy to Geneva Regular buses for Geneva Dorcière station leave from Annecy bus station.
Time of departure: 6:30 am, 8:15 am, 10:15 am, 2:15 pm, 5:15pm, 7:15 pm

By Lyon (140 km)

The second closest airport is Lyon St Exupéry, situated at about 140 kilometers (87 miles) from Annecy. You can get to Annecy either by bus or by train from the airport.

There are about four trains per day doing the voyage Lyon St Exupery - Annecy, with a traveling time of about two hours and a half.

Every 20 minutes, there is a bus going to the two train stations in Lyon. The time of the voyage is about 40 minutes. From Lyon, there is about one train per hour going to Annecy. The time of the voyage is about 2 hours.
The last train leaves at about 9pm.

If you take a taxi, the price is about 170 Euros.

There is also a possibility to take the bus between the airport and Annecy. There are approximately 5 busses a day, but you have to make a reservation at least 4 days before you come. Otherwise there is a risk that the bus won't leave.

The price for a one-way ticket is 30.40 Euros. If you book the return-ticket at the same time, the price is 45.60 Euros for the two ways.

By Paris (600 km)

What's coming to France without going to Paris? With a distance of 600 kilometers (370 miles), it's not the town "next door", but with the TGV (High Speed Train, with a maximum of about 300 km/h, or 180 miles/h), the voyage is done in approximately 4 hours.
There is about one train every two hours between Paris and Annecy. With its 2 international aiports, Paris is close to the world. If you choose this travel then you have to go from the aiport to the train-station.
