Formatting instructions

Authors will be required to register on the IEA/AIE-06 web-based paper submission software, and to submit a formatted electronic version of their paper through this software no later than november 25 2005 (firm deadline). Formatting instructions appear below. Authors who do not have access to the web should contact the program chair no later than December 15, 2005 for alternate submission instructions. No email or fax submissions will be accepted.

Paper Length and Format

Paper submissions must be formatted according to the editor guidelines in Useful links, and must not exceed 10 formatted pages presenting the results of original research or innovative practical applications relevant to the conference. Overlong papers will not be accepted for review. However, shorter papers up to 6 pages may be submitted as short papers representing work in progress or suggesting possible research directions. In this case, the author must indicate short paper exclusively in the comments text-area of the submission form. Practical experiences with state-of-the-art AI methodologies are also acceptable when they reflect lessons of unique value to the conference attendees. All papers must be written in english. For more details, see "Useful links".

Review Process

Two reviewers will be assigned to each paper. Selection criteria include accuracy and originality of ideas, clarity and significance of results and quality of the presentation. The decision of the Program Committee will be final and cannot be appealed. Papers selected will be scheduled for presentation and will be printed in the conference proceedings published in a bound volume by Springer Verlag in the "Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence" series. Referees will be asked to nominate papers for a Best Paper award to be announced at the conference. All papers, but particularly those nominated for the Best Paper competition, will be automatically considered for publication in an expanded form in the International Journal of Applied Intelligence.
